What I appreciated most is she didn't try and push us in a direction that we weren't willing to go and displayed great patience with the scrutiny I had while viewing a home. I count myself lucky to have found Gwen to be my realtor and now my friend. Gwen helped us through the process of buying one house and selling another and she was extraordinary on both sides! My first clue of how special she is came when she provided referrals for a few contractors to help us prep the house for sale … when I mentioned Gwen, they couldn’t do enough to make me happy, they said “oh we love Gwen” and I said “who couldn’t?” I gave her the nickname “Unicorn” because she a rare-find in a realtor: she genuinely gives priority to the client’s benefit over her own. Gwen is a unique combination of gentle and tenacious. Gwen was an amazing realtor!!! My wife and I were very fortunate to have found her during our buying process. My wife and I were out of state buyers, and we really had to rely on Gwen to cherry pick and look at houses we were interested in. My wife and I told her what we were looking for and she was in immediate lock step with us. A lot of the times while my wife and I were looking at potential houses to view Gwen had already emailed us about it. Gwen was always on the phone with us answering questions we had, making sure we understood everything and that we were comfortable with the process. Gwen's forthright and honest personality was a breath of fresh air. I strongly recommend doing business with her."

After the sudden death of our beloved elderly father, my brother and I became joint heirs of his home of forty years. Our family loved the beautiful house he had shared with our late mother, but we could not keep it. I offered to interview real estate agents and prepare the house for sale. Coldwell Banker attracted my notice because of its fine national reputation and many listings in the Pittsburgh area.
Gwen Wright received my call at Coldwell Banker. Her warm, attentive voice inspired confidence. She understood our family’s grief, as well as the complicated work I faced to vacate the home. Although I interviewed other agents, our family agreed that Gwen outshone them all. She brought a keen eye, abundant practical advice, superlative ethics, and a thorough knowledge of the market and selling process.
Gwen’s special training as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) gave us additional commitment and insight. She understands the predicaments faced by out-of-state heirs like us. Gwen helped us identify a home appraiser and contractors, and even met and oversaw them when we could not be in town.
I needed to sort through generations’ worth of possessions to find sensitive documents and items we wanted to keep: a rocking chair that has comforted our family’s babies since the 1800s, wedding bands, irreplaceable photos, childhood art, etc. For this reason, our family hoped to avoid listing the property on the MLS if possible. Gwen worked hard to prepare an exclusive listing and notify other agents about the home. Her effort paid off: Gwen showed the property for one day, and brought us an offer well above the asking price. (Other offers and nibbles came our way, but we did not need them.)
From the time we signed the contract, until the date of closing, Gwen worked smoothly and beautifully with the buyers and our family. Through Gwen, the buyers even communicated that their family loved the home. Although this gesture was not required, it comforted me. It turned my sadness about emptying the house into satisfaction: I was preparing this treasured place for a happy future.
